Job summary

The City of Arlington is seeking two full-time seasonal Maintenance and Operations team members for October 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027. Typical schedule is Mon–Fri 6:30am to 3:00pm, with occasional weekend assignments for city events. Candidates will perform general manual labor, use power tools, mow, prune, and assist experienced staff.

A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with U.S. citizenship or eligibility and a Washington driver’s license.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
U.S. citizen or legally eligible to work in the United States.
Valid Washington State Driver's License required.
Pass a WSP WATCH Background Check.
Experience with mowing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist higher classification with construction, installation, repair or maintenance tasks.
Mow grass, weed beds, trim shrubs, operate mowers and line trimmers.
Pick up and remove debris; operate pickup trucks/Vans as authorized.
Clear dirt around storm sewers, basins, and related City facilities with hand tools.
Help control traffic at work sites if certified to flag traffic.
Respond to questions and provide information within scope of knowledge.
Clean and maintain public restrooms and replenish supplies.
Operate a variety of power tools and equipment as needed.
