Job summary

Camp Kern in Oregon, OH seeks a Junior Resident Camp Counselor to provide a quality camp experience for children, ensuring their safety and growth during the summer season.

Under the supervision of the Senior Counselor, you will implement lesson plans, lead activities, and maintain safety protocols. This seasonal role requires living on-site with room and board provided for the duration of the summer program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be 17 years old.
• One or more years of related childcare experience.
• Must know how to actively engage children in activities that will enhance their self-esteem.

Responsibilities

• Effectively assists in implementation of weekly lesson plans that fit the children’s needs, interests and developmental levels at camp.
• Work effectively as a team with all Camp Kern Staff
• Learn and teach camp songs around a campfire
• Participate in dining hall set up
• Effectively lead large group activities such as games, campfires, high ropes course, climbing wall, hayrides, canoeing, night hikes, campfire gatherings, and more.
• Ensure safety by firmly and tactfully enforcing all aquatic rules, policies, and guidelines.
