City of El Cajon is seeking part‑time Lifeguards for seasonal work from approximately June 1 through October 30. Starting salary is $20.48 hourly.

Responsibilities include lifeguard duties, pool and locker room supervision, assisting in classes, ensuring participant safety, and performing related tasks. Candidates must hold current Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid (Title 22) and pass a physical exam prior to appointment.

Qualificações

• Possession of current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid certificates (Title 22).
• Must pass a physical exam (including alcohol & drugs screening) prior to appointment.
• Educational achievement equivalent to completion of or currently attending high school; additional aquatic specialization training is desired.

Responsabilidades

• Perform lifeguard duties; prevent accidents; enforce rules and regulations.
• Supervise pool and locker room.
• Assist during instructional classes when needed.
• Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of participants in the program.
• Cashiering duties when assigned.
• Perform light maintenance.
• Establish and maintain relationships with parents, community center staff and others.
• Maintain a fun and positive attitude to create a happy environment.
