The Corman Harriman Outdoor Center is an ideal destination for anyone looking for hiking, paddling, and camping opportunities in the heart of Harriman State Park at Breakneck Pond. Harriman State Park, New York's second largest park, is located 30 miles from Manhattan and accessible by public transportation.
The Corman Harriman Outdoor Center (CHOC) Lifeguard is responsible for all aspects of the facility operations as assigned by the Camp Manager. Duties include but are not limited to: monitoring waterfront, acting as an onsite first responder in case of an emergency, enforcing waterfront and camp rules during and after swimming hours, attending to the needs of members and visitors, daily cleaning and maintenance of the buildings and grounds, and performing any additional tasks as assigned.

What AMC Is Looking For
Physical abilities needed: Successfully pass swimming test, ability to operate standard maintenance equipment. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds at the Lodge and in the backcountry. Ability to travel safely in the backcountry in all weather conditions.

Salary range: $16.58/Hourly

The initial salary represents our starting point, and our compensation philosophy is designed to reward and recognize the contributions of our employees as they grow within the organization. External candidates typically begin their journey with us at the starting point of the salary range. The final compensation offer will be based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and geographic differential relevant to the position, and will be discussed during the interview process.
