Join to apply for the Seasonal Landscaping Team Member role at Haymarket.

We are seeking a Seasonal Landscaping Team Member to ensure the grounds of Ashbourne Farms and its properties are well-maintained in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities include weeding, mulching, mowing, seeding, and plant installation. Support may also be provided to other farm teams such as Wildlife, Maintenance, and Garden. The position is seasonal, from March to mid-November.

Essential Functions

• Maintain lawncare including mowing, weed eating, seeding, and sod installation.
• Perform landscape and hardscape maintenance: weeding, mulching, fertilizing, pruning, debris removal, and plant installation.
• Manage orchard health through pruning and spraying.
• Support other farm areas like Events and Wildlife Management by removing invasive plants and planting native species to promote wildlife.
• Ensure systems like irrigation and lighting are functioning and maintained across seasons.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of lawncare and landscaping practices.
• Understanding of different plants and their care routines.
• Ability to work independently under manager supervision.
• Basic mechanical skills with power tools, mowers, and vehicles.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma required.
• Relevant lawncare and landscaping experience required.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Prolonged standing and walking, sometimes several miles daily.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery such as mowers, trucks with trailers, and tractors.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work hours are 7 am - 3 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential nights and weekends based on farm needs.
