Job summary

UPS is seeking a reliable Journeyman Technician to join the fleet maintenance team. Responsibilities include maintaining a diverse range of equipment from various manufacturers, with propulsion systems including diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as CNG, LNG, propane, hybrid, and electric in some locations.

Journeyman Technicians will troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls; be prepared to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, and have

Qualifications

  • Current automotive/heavy equipment experience.
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer.
  • Possesses full complement of personal hand tools.
  • ASE certifications - Preferred.
  • Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis.

Responsibilities

  • Meets D.O.T requirements as required by job assignment.
  • Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently.
  • Sits infrequently, as required.
  • Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level.
  • Operates standard and manual transmission.
  • Operates power and pneumatic tools.

Job Description:

Seeking a reliable Journeyman Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The Journeyman Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles' propulsion systems include diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in some locations.

Journeyman Technicians must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.

Journeyman Technicians must be willing to work 2ndor 3rdshifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s need.Journeyman Techniciansmust possess the required hand tools required to perform the applicable job assignment.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment

Requirements:
  • Must have an active driver's license issued by the state
  • Must be willing to work 2ndor 3rdshifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s need.
  • Must possess the required hand tools required to perform the applicable job assignment.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Current documented automotive/ heavy equipment experience
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
  • Possesses full complement of personal hand tools
  • ASE certifications - Preferred
  • Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday on a consistent basis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The starting pay for this position is $39.00 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.

Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), defined-benefit pension plan, medical-dental and vision after waiting and or probation period, $0 healthcare premium, paid vacation, paid sick and family and medical leave time as required by law, paid holidays, discounted employee stock purchase program.

Pay Range:

For this union-represented posting, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions. The starting pay rate for this position starts at $39.00/hr. The company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
