Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a part-time District Support Pharmacist in Somerville, MA. You will help manage patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizations, travel district-wide to cover shifts, and support the Pharmacy Manager as acting lead on duty when needed.

The role requires an active pharmacist license in Massachusetts, an active NPI, and eligibility not to be on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Regular training and a focus on patient safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Help manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts and cover as proxy for Pharmacy Manager when needed.
• Follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Serve as Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap when needed.
• Coach pharmacy team to deliver compassionate care and resolve insurance/medication issues.
• Offer immunizations and support staff in learning to immunize.
• Assist in inventory management with focus on cold chain protection.
• Maintain flexibility for scheduling and contribute to a safe, inclusive team environment.
• Keep clinical and technical skills up-to-date through trainings and CME.
• Support access to care by providing pharmacist-delivered clinical care where permissible.
