Job summary

City Center Rink in downtown Providence is seeking Skate Hosts for a part-time seasonal Winter 2026-2027. You will support guests on the ice, manage skate rentals, and help maintain a safe, organized skate-rental operation.

Ideal candidates skate confidently, can work evenings and holidays, and stay alert in winter weather. Training is provided; the role is in-person at City Center Rink within the City of Providence.

Qualifications

• Proficient and confident ice skater capable of navigating crowded sessions.
• Ability to stop quickly, change direction, and assist skaters on ice.
• Customer-service experience in public settings preferred.
• Work outside in winter conditions and stay attentive for extended periods.
• Evening, weekend, school-vacation, and holiday availability required.
• Availability for key holidays and Providence school vacations.

Responsibilities

• Attend training and demonstrate skating, safety, customer-service, and rental-room skills.
• Monitor ice surface, enforce rules, and assist guests who need support.
• Report injuries, hazards, and equipment issues promptly.
• Rent/return skates, skate aids, and helmets with accurate guest flow.
• Clean/sanitize rental skates and maintain the rental room areas.
• Inspect equipment and remove unsafe items from service.
• Assist with opening/closing, bumper car setup, events, and cleaning.
• Communicate via two-way radio and provide friendly, professional service.
• Perform other duties related to rink operations and safety.
