We started Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in a yellow truck on the streets of NYC in 2008 with a mission to make good ice cream that makes you feel good.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring seasonal, part-time team members to work at our Westport ice cream shop during the summer. Our team members are the ultimate Van Leeuwen ambassadors, exemplifying our world-class standards in everything they do. Candidates must have availability to work at least three shifts per week and past 1am. We are looking for self-starters who can work well independently or as part of a team. The ideal candidate has great energy, excellent people skills, and a love for ice cream!

Seasonal Part-Time Ice Cream Servers at Van Leeuwen's scoop shops earn $16.35 per hour, with an average of up to $6 extra per hour from tips. Tips are averages and may fluctuate.

This position is seasonal, aligned with peak summer demand, with an end date of 10/03/2025 unless otherwise specified in the interview process.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve guests all menu items according to established service standards.
• Process transactions at the register and handle payments.
• Maintain store cleanliness and follow sanitation guidelines.
• Provide excellent guest service.
• Manage inventory, receive deliveries, and coordinate with vendors and HQ.
• Adhere to safety, grooming, uniform, and conduct standards.

Job Requirements

• Availability to work 60 days from the start date.
• Ability to operate the POS system.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Food handler's certification is a plus.
