Job summary

City of Dover is seeking a seasonal part-time Recreation Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled tasks and operate the Zamboni ice resurfacer at the Dover ice arena. The position offers 10-20 hours per week at $15.19 per hour.

Responsibilities include arena and grounds upkeep, ice maintenance, equipment repairs, safety enforcement, skate rentals, and coordination with the public. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, experience in buildings/grounds maintenance, knowledge

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in the maintenance of buildings and grounds. Experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems, and ice maintenance machinery preferred. Possession of a valid New Hampshire motor vehicle operator’s license.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains the arena, surrounding grounds and arena machinery.
• Maintains satisfactory ice conditions through operation of the Zamboni ice resurfacer.
• Assists in routine maintenance and repair of arena machinery, motors, plumbing, wiring, lighting, and sound system.
• Establishes, maintains and enforces safety rules and regulations.
• Assists in skate rentals, arena rentals and skate sharpening.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, other departments and agencies, and the general public.
• Maintains familiarity with and executes safe work procedures associated with assigned work.
• Performs related work as required.
