Role Overview:
The Seasonal Human Resources Assistant provides district-wide administrative support for day-to-day consultation, and facilitates the development, implementation, monitoring and coordination of, human resources programs.
This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $15.00 an hour.

This position is located in INDOT’sCrawfordsville Area.
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
• Assists the District Field Human Resources Team by providing day-to-day consultation and guidance to agency leaders and local office staff regarding human resources functions/issues (e.g., employee relations, family medical leave, disability and workers’ compensation, performance management, policy and procedures);
• Represent the District HR Team during meetings and interactions with district employees and leadership.
• Serve as a liaison between assigned state agency and the State Personnel Department for the purpose of coordinating human resources functions and facilitating communication and referrals as necessary.
• Assist in the coordination and/or training on various human resources/management issues/topics (e.g. performance management).
• Prepare distribute & retrieve completed new hire paperwork for New Employee Orientation.
• May coordinate and/or conduct agency new employee orientation.
• Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
• Assist in record retention project retrieving, preparation, organization of personnel files for archiving.
• Assist in information verification & data entry.
• Assist in building & maintaining personnel files.

This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
