Position Details
  • Salary: $17.33+/hour
  • Employment type: Full-time and Part-Time
  • Location: 3461 Worcester Highway, Snow Hill, MD 21863 (Worcester County)
Main Purpose of Job

The Maryland Park Service is recruiting seasonal contractual lifeguards for the 2025 season at Pocomoke River State Park, with contracts approximately from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Applicants must indicate their preferred positions (Lifeguard Lake/Pool or Lead) on the Supplemental Questionnaire.

Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Certified in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR by a recognized national agency (certification required before employment)
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 18 years old
  • Minimum two months of lifeguarding experience
  • Certification as a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor or Water Safety Instructor preferred
Licenses and Certifications

Must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license if operating a vehicle during duties, with a clean driving record.

Additional Requirements

Background checks including employment, education, driving record, and criminal history are required. Continued employment depends on passing these checks.

Selection Process
