The Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service is recruiting for multiple seasonal contractual lifeguard positions at Gunpowder Falls State Park for the 2025 season. The contract duration will be approximately from Memorial Day to Labor Day, depending on specific needs.
Applicants must specify their interest in the following positions on the Supplemental Questionnaire: Lifeguard Series (Lifeguard I, II, III, Head Lifeguard Ocean/Tidal). Review the duties of each series HERE.
Must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license with five or fewer points. Provisional licenses are not accepted.
Employment may require background checks, including employment references, education verification, driving record, and criminal history including fingerprinting. Continued employment depends on passing these checks.
Applicants meeting minimum qualifications will be considered. Ensure your application is complete and accurate, including all education and experience. Foreign education must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
Contractual employees working 30+ hours per week may be eligible for health benefits, paying 25% of premiums. Other benefits include dental, life, and accidental death insurance. Leave accrual is possible after 120 days of work, at one hour per 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours annually.
