The Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service, is recruiting for multiple seasonal contractual lifeguard positions for the 2025 season at Cunningham Falls State Park. Contract duration will be approximately from Memorial Day to Labor Day, depending on specific needs. You must indicate your position(s) of interest on the Supplemental Questionnaire to be considered. Employees may be required to operate a motor vehicle, UTV, or golf cart. A valid Maryland driver’s license with five points or fewer is required; provisional licenses are not accepted.
Selected candidates may undergo background checks, including employment references, education verification, driving record, and criminal history including fingerprinting. Continued employment depends on passing these checks.
Applicants meeting minimum qualifications will be considered. Ensure your application accurately reflects your education and experience. Foreign education must be evaluated and approved prior to hire.
Contractual employees working 30+ hours/week may be eligible for health benefits, paying 25% of premiums. Other benefits include dental, accidental death, and life insurance, with premiums paid in full by the employee. Leave accrual is possible after 120 days of work, up to 40 hours per year.* Benefits details will be discussed at hire.
