US National Park Service in Yosemite National Park is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic (Historic Preservation) for a seasonal role commencing in 2027. The position supports preservation of historic facilities and structures within the park and requires readiness for variable weather and project needs.

The role emphasizes following instructions, operating and maintaining a range of hand and power tools, and applying technical expertise to repairs and preventive maintenance in a demanding park

Qualifications

• Ability to perform the work with limited supervision (screen-out).
• Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.
• Proficiency in technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic).
• Experience with measuring instruments and tools.
• Ability to interpret instructions, specifications and blueprints.
• Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of materials used in maintenance and preservation.
