Job summary

Thornton Fractional High School District 215 is seeking a part-time, seasonal athletic coach. You will assist the Head Coach in managing practices, competitions, and related activities to provide students with meaningful athletic experiences.

You will coordinate transport, maintain equipment and ensure compliance with IHSA rules and district policies. The role emphasizes collaboration with school staff, adherence to schedules, and strong communication with students and parents.

Qualifications

• Must meet IHSA qualifications to coach per IHSA Constitution and By-Laws.
• Experience as a coach in the activity sponsored preferred.
• Experience working in a high school setting preferred.
• Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand the proper administrative line of command and refer requests through proper channels.
• Assist Head Coach in scheduling and providing transportation to contests, tournaments, and other events.
• Assist in preparations for events and ensure adherence to facility times; coordinate with maintenance and staff.
• Assist in handling documentation for athletic eligibility, consent, and insurance.
• Distribute team rules and training rules to athletes.
• Provide supervision of athletes at practices, games, and travels.
• Direct student managers and statisticians for respective teams.
• Complete paperwork on athletic injuries using district forms and submit promptly.
• Record equipment inventories and assist with distribution, collection, and losses.
