Job summary

Mid-Pacific Institute is seeking a Head Coach for the Swimming program at the middle and high school levels. Responsibilities include developing student-athletes, creating practice schedules, recruiting and mentoring coaching staff, and working with the Athletic Department to maintain a competitive program.

The role also involves supervising staff, evaluating swimmers, and ensuring safety and compliance with league rules.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Preferred: Proven experience as a successful and motivating head coach with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop student-athletes through safe and effective drills, skills, strategies, and lesson planning.
• Motivate and support student-athletes using positive reinforcement.
• Provide off-season training opportunities to improve individual and team performance.
• Track daily attendance and communicate with student-athletes and parents regarding absences.
• Monitor athlete eligibility per Mid-Pacific, ILH, and HHSAA regulations.
• Maintain and secure all equipment; report any broken or unsafe items to the Athletic Department.
• Recruit, train, and oversee all coaches in the Swimming program, in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
• Supervise the practice and competition environments to maintain safety.
• Identify and address hazards or unsafe behaviors.
