Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class C Texas driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of care and maintenance of athletic fields, lawns, shrubs, and general landscape maintenance.
• Knowledge of chemicals and proper mixing procedures (follow label directions).
• Knowledge of operation and safety for grounds equipment and tools.
• Flexible and able to adjust daily routine.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate ground maintenance equipment to mow and detail district grounds, including athletic fields.
• Follow a maintenance plan to care for lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers (watering, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, etc.).
• Perform duties with equipment and hand tools.
• Assist with preparing athletic fields for games (chalk, etc.).
• Collect and dispose of leaves, dirt, rubbish on district facilities.
• Comply with department work guidelines and district policies for grounds care.
• Adhere to landscape standards and work production schedules.
• Assist with sprinkler system inspection, repair, and installation; assist with athletic events when needed.
