Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Groundskeeper for the Saddle Creek Community to maintain outdoor areas and ensure grounds are clean, safe, and visually appealing for residents and visitors.

The role involves mowing, weed control, irrigation checks, and basic landscaping tasks, with occasional travel for related errands. The position requires physical work outdoors, driving equipment, and adherence to safety and company procedures.

• Mow grass and trim weeds in landscape areas.
• Drive the property multiple times a day and note issues that do not meet UMH standards.
• Identify and address pest and weed problems; apply pesticides/herbicides or organic treatments as needed.
• Collect and dispose of trash, litter, and recyclables from designated areas.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, work orders and materials used.
• Report completed tasks and outstanding issues to supervisors.

We are looking for a Seasonal Groundskeeper for our Saddle Creek Community, who is responsible for maintaining and caring for the outdoor areas of a community or residential complex. Their primary role is to ensure that the grounds are clean, safe, and visually appealing for residents and visitors

Job Purpose

A community groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining and caring for the outdoor areas of a community or residential complex. Their primary role is to ensure that the grounds are clean, safe, and visually appealing for residents and visitors

Job Duties

Mo w grass, trim weeds, landscape green areas

Drive the property multiple times a day and note anything that does not meet UMH standards and needs to be corrected.

Identify and address pest and weed problems in a timely manner. Apply appropriate pesticides, herbicides, or organic treatments to control pests and maintain weed-free areas.

Collect and dispose of trash, litter, and recyclables from designated areas

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and materials used

Report completed tasks, ongoing projects, and any outstanding issues to supervisors.

Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper functioning and efficient water usage. Water plants, lawns, and trees as needed

The position includes all other responsibilities that may be necessary to fulfill the duties associated with the position or as may be assigned.

Required qualifications

Physical requirements of the job

Frequently lift objects over 20 pounds during the work day.

Able to drive equipment like a backhoe, front loader and zero turn mower.

Walking and standing for the majority of the work day.

Occasionally kneel and crawl as required to perform certain duties

Use of machinery to mow grass.

Use of power tools and hand tools that are required to perform daily groundskeeping tasks.

This is an outdoor job exposed to elements of nature such as weather, insects, pollen, plants and various forms of grass and greenery.

Travel

Occasional car travel may be required to handle work-related errands outside of the community.

Work Schedule

• Seasonal and part-time schedules will vary based upon length of season geographicallyas well as specific community needs.
• In-person attendance is an essential function of this position.

Job classification
