Job description

Boulder County Parks & Open Space Department is hiring a Seasonal Parks Technician.

The primary duties include general maintenance of park trailheads and routine tasks across various locations. The technician will also assist with Trailheads projects and serve as the Sponsor for the Grounds Youth Corps Team, consisting of 2 adult staff and 10 teen corps members. This outdoor seasonal position requires frequent use of hand and power tools.

This is an hourly, non-benefited position working 40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm. The work location is 5201 St. Vrain Rd, Longmont, CO. Under FLSA guidelines, this is a non-exempt (overtime-eligible) position.

Residency Requirement: Employees must reside in Colorado as of the first day of work.

Salary: $24.04 per hour.

Hiring Timeline:

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform maintenance and improvement projects on properties managed by the department.
  2. Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and equipment for unskilled and semi-skilled tasks.
  3. Conduct ongoing maintenance and repairs on trails, picnic areas, buildings, parking lots, and other facilities.
  4. Perform related work as required.
  5. Reassignment during emergency situations may occur.
