Xavier University is seeking applications for a Seasonal Groundskeeper. This is a 40-hour per week seasonal position. The employment period is from April 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To

• Operate hand and power tools to cut, trim, edge grass, turf, prune and remove trees and shrubs, trim hedges, mulch, and apply chemicals, using appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Apply topsoil, grade surfaces, prepare seed beds, plant bulbs, and weed flower beds.
• Maintain athletic fields by dragging, laying out, lining, and painting.
• Perform snow removal.
• Keep university grounds clean by picking up trash and debris; operate equipment to clean sidewalks, steps, patios, and parking lots as needed.
• Lifting and moving heavy equipment and materials unassisted up to 125 pounds.
• Follow all established safety procedures.
• Assist other departments with related activities, such as setting up and delivering equipment, furniture, supplies, and Christmas lights.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a driving record deemed insurable under Xavier’s policies.
