Job summary

New Ulm is seeking a temporary summer maintenance worker for the Park & Rec department. The role focuses on cleaning, grounds care, and assisting with outdoor maintenance tasks such as mowing and landscaping.

Responsibilities include operating basic cleaning and grounds equipment, preparing facilities for events, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. The position runs through mid-October to early November, weather permitting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or in progress.
• Ability to perform general maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Experience with grounds maintenance or landscaping is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, mop and scrub floors in designated areas.
• Clean windows and wash walls; empty trash and recycle.
• Operate floor scrubber, vacuums, and mowers as needed.
• Rake leaves, prune hedges, and assist with athletic field maintenance.
• Open and close facilities; set up for events and activities.
