Job summary

The DeLong Co., Inc. is seeking a Grain Scale Operator in Illinois to handle scale operations, customer service, and basic grain accounting. You will grade grain, record test data, and coordinate inbound/outbound shipments while maintaining accurate records and delivering friendly, professional service.

This full-time seasonal role requires flexibility to work during peak harvest periods, with hours typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Ability to work long hours on a flexible schedule including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service at all times when greeting and servicing customers.
• Manage inbound and outbound grain shipments for customers at the grain scale.
• Grade grain and identify foreign materials.
• Record data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities.
• Maintain records for trucking weighing and grading activities.
• Coordinate delivery numbers, daily inputs, and verify accuracy.
• Operate the on-scale interface system and transfer data.
• Respond to customer inquiries at the counter.
• Assist with other office functions as needed.
