Job summary

The Golf Club at Lansdowne, part of Troon, is seeking a Part-time Starter and Player Assistant for a six-month seasonal term. You will start players on the first tee, explain the rules of play, and monitor pace of play to ensure a smooth round.

Responsibilities include maintaining the starting sheet, coordinating groups, and assisting golfers throughout the course while upholding safety and courtesy standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Start players on the first tee and explain the rules for the day
• Maintain an accurate starting sheet to track player whereabouts
• Cue groups to the first tee and ensure only one group on the tee at a time
• Tour the course and assist players to maintain the posted pace of play
• Check restrooms and water stations on a regular schedule
• Monitor course spacing to avoid delays and complete daily golfer tracking reports
