Wage: $18/ hour

Overview

The successful applicant will work in the historic gardens of Oldfields, a National Historic Landmark property, as well as the contemporary gardens located throughout the 52-acre landscape. This is an ideal opportunity to improve one's gardening skills and greatly expand one's plant knowledge.

Responsibilities

• To assist Horticulturists with installing, maintaining, and grooming the gardens.
• Installation of large tree, shrub, and herbaceous planting
• Groom gardens (weeding, edging beds, mulching, etc.)
• Provide cultural care of plants and gardens (watering, deadheading, pruning, etc.)
  
  

Required Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as planting plans, safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to use horticultural equipment and tools with proper training.
• While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
