Job summary

GameStop in La Plata, MD is seeking a Seasonal Sales Associate to support the store team during peak periods, focusing on sales, guest service, and maintaining a vibrant, well‑stocked shopping environment that reflects the Circle of Life model.

You will greet guests, assist with video game needs, recommend related items, stock shelves, ensure clean restrooms and merchandise presentation, and help the team meet seasonal sales, profit, and loss‑prevention goals while following all store policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail sales or guest service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class customer service by greeting guests, assisting them with their video gaming needs, recommending additional items as appropriate, applying all selling behaviors during every transaction, and expressing gratitude to every guest for choosing GameStop.
• Fully support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational aspects, and actively contribute to all store sales initiatives throughout the holiday season.
• Collaborate with the store team to ensure that all areas of the store, including restrooms, are clean, organized, and merchandised according to company guidelines.
• Assist in stocking and restocking merchandise on shelves and fixtures, as well as transferring products from the stock room to the front of the store, ensuring that all products are well-presented, organized, and alphabetized on the selling floor.
• Assist the store team in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrinkage reduction goals.
• Address guest questions and concerns promptly, effectively, and courteously, and elevate customer issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner to a store keyholder.
• Support effective inventory control and loss prevention practices, including awareness of scams and adherence to safety best practices.
• Consistently adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
