Job summary

Northgate Gonzalez Market is hiring for a Meat Department position in California. The role involves customer service, accurate meat preparation, packaging, weighing, labeling, and adherence to health and safety regulations.

You will rotate perishable stock and assist with stocking and maintenance across the department. Ideal candidates are comfortable working in a fast-paced grocery environment, capable of lifting up to 70 pounds, and committed to quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Ability to hear, speak and understand English to respond to requests and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong reading and writing skills in English for instructions and policies.
• Knowledge of meat cuts, cooking methods, and department operations.

Responsibilities

• Observe store rules and policies.
• Follow health codes and weight/measure laws.
• Package, weigh, price, and restock meat products.
• Handle damaged/spoiled products per policy.
• Rotate perishable merchandise (FIFO).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Greet customers and provide courteous service.
• Assist customers with slicing, weighing, packaging, and labeling.
