Job summary

CURRENT in Chicago, IL, is seeking a service-focused team member to join our dining team. You will greet guests, take and relay orders via POS, deliver orders, and ensure a smooth, engaging guest experience from start to finish.

You will maintain station setup, manage beverages and desserts, comply with alcohol service regulations, and help coworkers as needed. This role requires strong communication and physical stamina in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to pitch in and help coworkers as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 30 lbs through a crowded room.

Responsibilities

• Check station before, during and after shift for setup and cleanliness.
• Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain specials or promotions.
• Input the order into the POS system and relay details to the kitchen.
• Retrieve orders and deliver to guests with condiments while ensuring accuracy.
• Abide by all state, federal and corporate rules for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction; upsell desserts or specialty coffees.
• Present the check promptly and close out the table; manage split bills if needed.
