Job summary

Stantec is seeking Archaeology Technicians to support field programs across the Midwest, including MN. This hourly, on-call position involves assisting with data collection, artifact identification, soil analysis, and documentation for diverse projects such as solar fields, pipelines, and urban revitalization.

Candidates should have a degree in Anthropology/Archaeology or related field, field school/CRM experience, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Anthropology/Archaeology/History or a related field is required.
Experience in a field school or CRM setting is required.
Familiarity with ESRI Field Maps is highly desirable.
Technical expertise within Archaeology/Anthropology is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Conduct archaeological fieldwork with field crews.
Identify precontact and historic artifacts; perform soil analysis.
Work under supervision of a field director or crew lead in MN and nearby states.
Laboratory duties may be available; manage artifact processing and curation.
Travel extensively to project sites and maintain safety practices.
Operate and maintain field equipment (GPS, cameras, tablets, hand tools).
Adhere to safety protocols for hazardous conditions and weather.
Participate in daily tailgate safety meetings and site safety plans.
