Job summary

The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa, a Pyramid Global Hospitality property in Riverside, CA, seeks a Seasonal Festival of Lights Steward to help deliver a memorable holiday experience. Work behind the scenes in the back-of-house, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dishwashing areas.

Ideal candidate is dependable, service‑oriented, and able to follow instructions, with prior kitchen or stewarding experience preferred but not required. Compensation $17.00-$21.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, hotel, or stewarding environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to perform repetitive cleaning and sanitation tasks.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, cooking utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and sanitation equipment safely and according to established procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dishwashing areas, kitchen floors, sinks, drains, work areas, and other assigned areas.
• Assist culinary staff with maintaining an adequate supply of clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and equipment throughout service.
• Sort and properly dispose of trash, recyclables, food waste, and other refuse in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Maintain proper organization of storage areas and return equipment and supplies to their designated locations.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and surfaces as assigned.
• Assist with receiving, moving, and storing food, beverage, kitchen, and operating supplies when needed.
• Follow all hotel, department, health, sanitation, and safety policies and procedures.
• Properly handle cleaning chemicals and use required personal protective equipment.
• Report damaged equipment, safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or sanitation issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with maintaining adequate supplies of dishwashing chemicals, cleaning supplies, and other stewarding materials.
• Help maintain a professional, organized, and sanitary back-of-house environment.
• Perform additional cleaning and support duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
• Guest Service Responsibilities: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests and coworkers; respond promptly and respectfully to requests from culinary and Food & Beverage staff.
