Job summary

Head Over Fields in Charlotte, Vermont, is seeking a part-time seasonal helper for the Farm Stand to support our retail crew May–October 2024. Saturdays shifts from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Responsibilities include opening/closing the farmstand, setting up displays, handling checkout, and post-harvest tasks.

Compensation starts at $18+ per hour, DOE, with access to fresh produce and a scenic location. Ideal candidates are knowledgeable about Vermont agriculture, familiar with seasonal produce, and

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Vermont agriculture and artisanal Vermont products.
• Familiarity with seasonal produce.
• Merchandising, including signage and displays.
• Retail experience with POS systems (e.g., Square, Shopify, Clover, Toast).
• Stocking and inventory management.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Detail-oriented with independent work ethic.
• Organized and able to maintain clean workspaces.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the retail farmstand.
• Set up displays and merchandising.
• Operate the cash register and ensure smooth checkout experience.
• Weekly meeting with the Owner/Farm Manager.
• Post-harvest processing (bag greens, clean onions/garlic, fill pints/quarts).
• Restock the floor and refrigeration units.
• Ensure produce quality and visual appeal for sale.
• Manage spoilage and maintain weekly timesheet.
