The Event Center seeks a dedicated Seasonal Team Member (July 1, 2025 to November 1, 2025, a five-month seasonal position) who can commit to a flexible 40-hour work schedule spanning Sunday through Saturday. This role requires availability for weekends and evenings, with hours subject to change based on event scheduling needs.
POSITION PROFILE
Performs various duties related to the planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the utilization of the Duchesne County Centennial Building. Performs labor-intensive duties, including moving panels, animal facility clean-up, dirt prep for major events, and custodial work. Will be responsible for operating heavy equipment like tractors. Venue oversight weekend events. Will be responsible for assisting the Duchesne County Event Center and Fair Grounds Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Set up and maintain the fairgrounds, the arena, facilities, restrooms, and common areas.
- Setting up and maintaining the events center for, i.e., professional organizations, cutter associations, 4-H clubs, rodeo organizations, state athletic associations, soccer and dance groups.
- Cleaning and maintenance upkeep.
- Arena dirt prep for barrel racing, roping, and events associated with rodeo.
- Variable hours can change depending on event scheduling.
- Venue oversight during events, such as weddings, conferences, etc.
- carries out ancillary tasks as needed.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a current and valid Utah Driver License; and
- Must pass a criminal background investigation and pre-employment drug screening successfully.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items up to 100 pounds with or without assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work includes the operation of a motor vehicle and equipment.
HAZARDS
- Hazards related to being around and near animals, mechanical equipment, and chemicals;
- Some work is performed outdoors with exposure to extremes of heat, cold temperatures, and inclement weather. Subject to the hazards associated with working in an indoor arena and, including humid & dusty conditions;
- Work in an office setting under fluorescent lighting, which may cause minimal eye strain but can accommodate individual needs.
- The noise level is usually moderate but may be excessive during events
