Long-Term Seasonal Engineering Aide II: Environmental ACM Inspector from 05/25/2025 to 10/01/2025 (17 weeks), 40 hrs/week. Contact supervisor for schedule. Location: 6 Edwin H Land Boulevard, Cambridge.
Note: If working less than 90 days, the position reverts to short-term, affecting salary scale and rate, which will be discussed during the interview.
Conduct daily asbestos-containing material (ACM) inspections along Spectacle Island beach, especially after high tides. Walk the beach to identify, photograph, and collect any ACM washed ashore, then transport and log the collected materials as per DCR guidelines. Schedule is tide-dependent.
With over a century of land stewardship, DCR's Division of Design & Engineering collaborates to plan, design, and maintain outdoor recreational facilities and infrastructure across the state. The team includes architects, engineers, landscape architects, and tradespeople, committed to providing accessible, high-quality outdoor spaces and modernized, sustainable facilities.
First consideration for applicants with at least one year of full-time civil or sanitary engineering experience or equivalent education/substitutions. Substitutions include an associate degree in relevant fields or recognized technical certificates. A valid Massachusetts Class D driver's license is required based on assignment.
