Job summary

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is seeking a Costuming Lead for The Polar Express Train Ride in Durango, CO. You will manage costume maintenance, dressing rooms, and daily check-ins with actors and volunteers.

Responsibilities include attending design and production meetings, coordinating fittings, overseeing costume construction/restoration, and ensuring proper storage and cleanliness. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the seasonal run.

Qualifications

• Must be able to sew.
• Knowledge of measurements, tailoring, and mending clothes.
• Experience in theatrical costuming is preferred.
• Must be able to move up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Check each costume daily for tears, missing buttons, and stains.
• Inventory all costumes and ensure adequate sizes are available.
• Oversee costume maintenance and daily laundering.
• Assist in fittings and attend design/production meetings as requested.
• Coordinate dress rehearsals, fittings, and costume restoration when needed.
