Job summary

Terrain Café in Kentucky is seeking a versatile Bartender to join our team. This hybrid role blends craft beverage preparation—cocktails, coffee, and specialty drinks—with warm table and counter service.

You will guide guests through seasonal offerings, maintain a clean station, and participate in tastings. Strong bartending skills and a willingness to learn—barista knowledge a bonus—are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years bartending experience with cocktail skills.
• Barista experience is a plus; willingness to learn coffee knowledge.
• Friendly, guest-focused communication; ability to multitask under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm service to guests at bar, counter or nearby tables.
• Guide guests through seasonal beverage offerings with confidence.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and organized station.
• Ensure all services are accurate, efficient, and delivered with care.
• Mix and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and specialty drinks.
• Educate guests on beverage offerings, including local wines and craft beers.
• Recommend and explain rotating food and drink pairings.
• Set up and break down bar service stations and prep garnishes.
• Monitor alcohol consumption and verify guest IDs for responsible service.
• Support inventory management and stock rotation.
• Operate espresso machines and grinders with accuracy and care.
• Rotate through bartending roles (espresso, service bar, counter service).
• Monitor freshness of coffee, tea, and milk products; maintain prep area.
• Follow cash handling procedures and open/close side work checklists.
• Uphold health, safety, and cleanliness standards; assist other FOH roles.
• Participate in seasonal tastings to enhance knowledge.
