Job summary

Lehi City is seeking a Seasonal Cemetery Worker to perform a variety of grounds maintenance tasks at the cemetery in Lehi, UT. The role includes mowing, trimming, weed control, restroom upkeep, irrigation work, and operating light/heavy equipment.

Candidates must be 16+ (18+ with a valid driver’s license preferred), pass a background and drug test, and have good communication skills. The position requires outdoor work in varying weather and schedule may include holidays.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of turf and landscape maintenance, irrigation, and greenspace upkeep.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Able to learn to operate maintenance equipment such as mowers, chain saws, pruning tools.
• Develop effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and the public.
• Must pass a background and drug test.
• Must be 16 years old or older; 18+ with valid driver's license preferred.

SEASONAL CEMETERY WORKER

CLOSING DATE: Open until Filled

PAY RATE: $14.21 per hour

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday (occasional shifts for holidays and weekends). Seasonal work expected to end around Thanksgiving.

DEPARTMENT: Cemetery

JOB SUMMARY

Performs a variety of duties related to the maintenance of:

• Cemetery Grounds maintenance
• String trimming around headstones
• Weeding and landscape bed maintenance
• Maintaining and cleaning restrooms
• Irrigation Systems
• Light and heavy equipment operating
• Working outside in various elements
• Great attitude and able to communicate with citizens in a respectable manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge in maintaining turf and landscape areas with skills including irrigation, planting, weeding, and general upkeep of greenspace
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate.
• Ability to learn to operate and maintain maintenance equipment such as mowers, chain saws, pruning equipment, and hand tools.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and the public.
• Must pass a background and drug test.
• Must be 16 years old or older (Preference will be given to applicants 18 and older with a valid driver's license).
