Job summary

Tanimura & Antle in Arizona is seeking full-time seasonal heavy labor harvesters to work in celery fields. You will join a crew under a foreperson or supervisor, selecting, trimming and packing celery, operating harvest equipment safely, and moving cartons and pallets as required.

The job requires physical stamina to lift up to 66 pounds, outdoor conditions, early start times (6:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.), and working 40 hours per week in open fields. Prior experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Harvests produce by walking in furrows and selecting size/quality; uses harvesting knife to cut from roots/stalks; trims and packs according to supervisor specs.
• Operates harvest machinery as Button Operator when needed; adjusts speed and controls as directed by foreperson; ensures machine safety and workflow.
• Moves cartons and pallets; handles bundles weighing up to 66 pounds; loads and stacks finished cartons for palletizing.
• Cleans fields and maintains work areas; follows safety and environmental guidelines; wears appropriate clothing for conditions.
• Stands on harvest platform; seals cartons; places boxes on wings for packers; handles pallets and cartage as directed.
• Works outdoors in varied weather; temperatures range from 30°F to over 100°F; reports to foreperson or supervisor.
