Job summary

St Gerard Education And Athletic Center seeks an experienced MCC Coach to support the school’s athletic cheer program. The role involves collaborating with administration to develop and oversee cheer activities, promote student health and safety, and prepare teams for interscholastic competitions.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the coach will manage program planning, safety guidelines, parent communications, and equipment needs while upholding Catholic school values and archdiocesan

Qualifications

• Five years of coaching experience
• Administrative, organizational, and financial skills
• CPR certification and First Aid training
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and on a team

Responsibilities

• Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Supports and adheres to the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees and policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese
• Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
• Plans, organizes, and implements a comprehensive athletic cheer program for students
• Provides for the safety and well-being of student-cheer athletes by implementing safety guidelines and training of coaches and students
• Implements annual parent information and coach training sessions
• Ensures that all cheer athletes have completed annual physicals, release/hold harmless forms, and registration before participation
• Ensures the school's compliance with league regulations and attends required meetings
• Maintains cheer athletic inventory and coordinates the ordering process for new cheer equipment and uniform
• Communicates efficiently regarding registration, team assignments, schedules, and participation requirements
• Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
• Conferences with parents upon request and responds to messages in a timely manner
• Keeps abreast of current cheer athletic and safety information through membership in relevant associations
• Prepares budgets and allocates spending on items such as registration fees, team travel, equipment purchases
• Required to manage high to moderate levels of stress
• Required to work in standard gym, field, and school conditions
