Job summary

Steve Madden Nashville is seeking a part-time cashier to deliver friendly, efficient service at the POS. You will greet customers, answer questions, and process transactions while maintaining product knowledge and brand standards.

The role may require occasional merchandising and stock replenishment to support store operations. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in retail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Retail experience or familiarity with customer service roles.
• Ability to communicate clearly in person and in writing.
• Experience using POS registers or computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, respond to needs, and process transactions accurately at POS.
• Maintain product knowledge and provide outstanding service.
• Assist in store operations such as stocking, merchandising, and cleanup as needed.
• Support in receiving and replenishing merchandise and floor stock.

Job description

Cashier (P/T)

The Cashier is responsible for listening and responding appropriately to customer needs, maintaining extensive product knowledge, and exhibiting professionalism at the POS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain outstanding customer service standards, possess solid product knowledge, greet and acknowledge every customer, and address any and all concerns by the customer at POS.
• Reinforce a rewarding customer experience.
• Complete all sales transactions accurately and efficiently, while maintaining all cash accountabilities at registers.
• Assist in various store operations, including floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, cleaning duties when necessary, and returning products to inventory as needed.
• Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
• Be flexible to occasionally perform work outside your specific role.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
