Job summary

Total Wine & More is hiring a Cashier in a seasonal capacity at our Washington stores. You will process transactions, assist customers, and promote loyalty programs while providing fast, friendly service.

Seasonal postings may transition to non-seasonal roles. Training includes wine, spirits, and beer knowledge; a strong customer-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years of work experience, 1+ years in a retail setting preferred.
• Passion for best-in-class customer service and team player mindset.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.

• Greet customers and engage to build relationships; inform about products and services for a personalized experience.

• Maintain store safety and cleanliness; ensure compliance with alcohol sale laws.
• Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

About the role

As a Cashier, you play an essential role in the customer service experience by providing customers with fast and friendly service. You will process transactions, answer questions, and ensure customers leave feeling positive about their visit. While both part-time and full-time positions generally focus on being a cashier, you may also be assigned as a sales associate or merchandiser/stock associate. Internally, you will be referred to Front End Team Member and report to the store management team. The job may be seasonal, lasting no longer than six months, and you will have the option to apply for a non-seasonal role.

Responsibilities

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including identification verification, payment handling, answering inquiries, promoting loyalty program, and bagging product.
• Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing about products and services.
• Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
• Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
• Complete cross‑functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8‑10 hours a day.
• Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets.
• Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly.
• May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday.
