Job summary

The City of Concord is seeking a Recreation Leader to provide a fun and safe environment for campers. You will communicate policies to campers and staff, coordinate activities, and work with lifeguards to ensure pool safety.

A background check and drug screening are required for employment. Responsibilities include planning weekly activities, reporting safety hazards, and ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for families and children.

Qualifications

• Basic safety and medical principles.
• Developmentally appropriate activities for children.
• Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
• CPR certification within two weeks of hire and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicates policies, rules, and procedures to campers and staff and relays infractions to parents and staff.
• Maintains safety through safety training, lifeguard coordination, hazard reporting, and incident reporting.
• Assists with planning activities by submitting weekly activity sheets and coordinating vendors as needed.
• Ensures adherence to rules by documenting infractions and relaying information to campers and staff.
• Provides a safe environment by supervising campers and ensuring pool safety where applicable.
• Coordinates programs by assisting with planning activities and vendor coordination.
