Job summary

Young Mens Christian Association Of Southwestern Indiana in Evansville, IN is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Facility Director in overall facility management for the summer camp. Qualifications

• Experience in customer service environments.

• Enthusiasm, humor, patience and self-control in diverse settings.
• CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen and Bloodborne Pathogen training required within 60 days of start date.
• Child Abuse Prevention training required before/on first day of working with consumers.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintain daily upkeep of assigned area and equipment.
• Perform duties efficiently to keep camp area ready for tours.
• Carry out janitorial duties including mopping, dusting, trash, recycling, window washing, painting, vacuuming, lawn care, and snow removal.
• Record repairs, report to supervisor, and follow up; basic carpentry or plumbing can be required.
• Ensure building and property are secure during shift and report issues.
• Maintain safe cleaning by following proper handling of chemicals and cleaning compounds.
• Operate cleaning equipment and a tractor for grounds maintenance as needed.
• Comply with OSHA, YMCA, and ACA standards for this department.
• Move materials and tools up to 50 pounds to locations up to 200 feet away several times daily.
• Read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals and other documents.
