The role…

At Soho House, a Busser is responsible for creating an organized, clean, and structured experience for members and guests. A Busser supports runners, servers, and management by cleaning and resetting tables, ensuring the availability of flatware and plates, and communicating guest needs to waitstaff. They also restock necessary items, such as napkins and straws, and may assist with washing dishes.

A successful Busser will be efficient, attentive, and possess strong customer service skills.

Main Duties
  1. Detail all tables before service begins, ensure place settings are neat and organized, and candles are on the tables.
  2. Ensure appropriate table setting and china are used for various services throughout the day; breakfast, lunch, dinner, or feast service; mis en place (ketchup, salt, pepper, HP, and sugar bowl).
  3. Stock all stations upon arrival (small plates, sharing plates, water and wine glasses, and all the silverware) and maintain throughout service, working with your team to keep the bread warmer full and neat.
  4. Maintain section cleanliness and ensure bread and water are delivered upon guests’ arrival while also assisting other sections when applicable.
  5. Clear tables of plates, silverware, and glassware between courses, wipe down, and reset tables for new guests.
  6. Polish silverware and store pot wash according to local standards.
  7. Complete side work before and after service (see side work sheets for details).
  8. Ensure the bar area cabinet and shelves are full before service (glassware, silverware, plate ware).
  9. Remove all dirty linen from stations and ensure trash is empty and clean.
Required Skills/Qualifications
  1. At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  2. Flexible schedule and willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  3. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  4. Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and deliver results in demanding, fast-paced environments.
  5. Basic verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
  2. Ability to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
  3. Must be able to move quickly between areas within the club.
  4. Ability to lift and carry at least 40 pounds.
  5. Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as required.

In accordance with New York law, the salary range for this role is listed below. Actual compensation will be based on experience and other factors.
