Job description

Neuropath Behavioral Healthcare provides Comprehensive Youth and Family Support Services to primary caregivers of children and teens with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities, serving the state of New Jersey. We are looking for Part-Time Behavior Technicians to join our team!

Starting Rate: $20.00/hour

A dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth, ongoing job training, group health coverage, and ancillary health benefits from AFLAC. Part-timers receive 40 hours of Paid Time Off annually and have access to short/long-term disability.

A Behavioral Technician will visit clients at home or in the community to provide relief to caregivers and holistic support to youth. Our providers typically work 2-20 hours weekly in 2-4 hour shifts, primarily in the evening hours. Services are available any day of the week to accommodate the scheduling needs of our clients. This position is available during the months of June through September.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide hands-off emotional and psychological support to the client and other members of the household, establishing relationships with clients and families.
  2. Implement interventions from the Individual Support Plan.
  3. Assess functional skills, including Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s).
  4. Utilize redirection to minimize problematic behaviors.
  5. Adhere to requirements and deadlines for weekly note submission and data collection (D.A.P. notes).
  6. Assist/guide parents/guardians in following the treatment plan under the direction of the Therapist.
  7. Perform crisis intervention, recognition, and intervention.
  8. Actively promote the client’s mental alertness and engagement through involvement in activities of interest.
  9. Follow and implement agency policies.
  10. Participate in required training.
  11. Provide services in-home, in-community, and in-center (Orange Twp).
  12. Participate in case reviews, consulting with the team caring for the client to evaluate needs and plan for continuing services.
  13. Ensure the safety and well-being of the client.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or related field.
  2. 3 years of relevant experience OR 1 year of experience with a valid Registered Behavioral Technician Certification.
  3. 1-3 years of experience in behavioral healthcare.
  4. 1-3 years of experience working with children with disabilities.
  5. Valid NJ Driver’s license and proof of car insurance.
  6. Consent to and pass State/Federal Criminal Background Checks.
