Job summary

Thompson Palm Springs Resort is seeking a hospitality-driven Seasonal Banquet Houseperson (Full-time) to join our events team. This temporary assignment runs through Memorial Day 2027, with a budgeted hourly rate of $20.50.

You will help set up and break down banquet spaces, move tables and equipment, assist with linens and service, maintain clean banquet areas, and respond to last-minute guest needs while upholding professional standards.

Qualifications

• Experience and a thorough understanding of banquet service.
• Refined verbal communication skills.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight.
• Desire to satisfy guests in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather.
• Experience at a luxury hotel/resort is a plus.
• Must be over 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet rooms and event spaces per specs.
• Move and arrange tables, chairs, staging and equipment.
• Assist with linens, china, glassware and meeting supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas.
• Replenish supplies during functions and assist staff as needed.
• Support servers and banquet captains with guest service.
• Clear tables and transport used items to designated areas.
• Operate carts and dollies safely for setups.
• Assist with outdoor event setups and patio areas.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation and hotel procedures.
