Job summary

Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking a seasonal athletic coach to develop, initiate, and administer the program, preparing student athletes for interscholastic competition. The coach will be recommended to the principal by the athletic director, hired by the principal, and evaluated with input from the athletic director.

The role emphasizes upholding Catholic education principles, modeling Gospel values, and ensuring adherence to school policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience coaching and/or playing experience.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver license may be required.
• Current CPR certification and First Aid training, or ability to obtain upon hiring.
• Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements and background screening.

• Model Gospel values and Catholic teachings.
• Maintain confidentiality of school matters.
• Use instructional techniques to develop student-athletes’ abilities.
• Supervise athletic activities and practices to promote growth and good sportsmanship.
• Collaborate with staff to plan instructional goals for student athletes.
• Establish performance criteria and evaluate athletic abilities.
• Coordinate equipment and inventory, and ensure safety protocols.
