Job summary

ICF’s Disaster Management division is seeking a Seasonal Associate to support recovery projects for HUD/FEMA and other programs. The role can be remote from Florida or hybrid from Tallahassee, with no relocation assistance.

You will assist with administrative and technical tasks, help state and local clients administer mitigation-funded programs, and contribute to reports and training materials. Requires a bachelor's and graduate enrollment in Emergency Management or related field; pay is $28

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and graduate enrollment in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or related field.
  • Coursework with emphasis on Emergency Management or Homeland Security or similar field.
  • Prior internship in Disaster Management, FEMA, or related area.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Experience researching, organizing, and analyzing information.
  • Experience writing detailed guidance, proposals, and procedural materials.

Let’s work together to help disaster impacted communities recover and re-build for future resilience. ICF’s growing Disaster Management division seeks a Seasonal Associate to support our project activities. This Seasonal Associate will provide support to specific recovery projects and functions for the Division. You will also work alongside project teams, helping state and local clients administer United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), United States Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and other federal and state funded programs. You will be exposed to a wide variety of experts across the firm including those who address issues related to infrastructure, disaster planning and recovery, financial literacy, energy efficiency, green building, and job training. The Seasonal Associate role can be remote from FL or hybrid from our Tallahassee, FL office. At this time, we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance. Pay is $28 per hour for graduate associates.

Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:

  • A completed bachelors degree AND enrollment verification in a graduate program focusing on Emergency Management, Homeland Security or similar field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework with an emphasis on Emergency Management, Homeland Security or similar field

  • Prior experience as an intern focused on Disaster Management, FEMA or related area

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Experience conducting research, organizing, and analyzing information

  • Experience writing detailed guidance, proposals, and procedural materials

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities

  • Data-entry experience

  • Strong time management skills

  • Consistent attention to detail

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

  • Experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or other mapping platforms

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$37,839.00 - $64,326.00
