The role is seasonal, typically April through November, with duties including compaction, maintaining roller settings, and performing basic equipment maintenance. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 4+ years of finishing rolling experience, plus strong communication skills and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of finishing rolling experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• General knowledge of the heavy highway construction industry.
• General knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
• Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt rollers to compact hot mix asphalt on highways, roadways, parking areas, and other paving projects.
• Maintain proper rolling speed, overlap, and vibration settings based on material and project requirements.
• Follow paving foreman and project specifications to achieve required pavement density and smoothness.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and identify equipment malfunctions.
• There is constant exposure to weather conditions and construction environment; ensure safety and compliance at all times.
• Adhere to safety policies and company requirements.
