Job description

Are you passionate about water safety, youth development, and creating positive community impact? We're hiring a Seasonal Full-Time Aquatics Program Leader who will champion the YMCA’s mission of healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll oversee aquatic programming, maintain safety standards, and support a team of up to 20 staff through coaching, training, and development. You'll also ensure certifications are current, conduct YMCA and Red Cross certification courses, and play a key role in program scheduling, communication with families, and data tracking. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced aquatics professional who thrives in a team environment and is committed to delivering high-quality programming. Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive mindset, and a heart for community make this role a rewarding seasonal opportunity. Join us this season and make a difference—one swimmer at a time!

  • Think, communicate, and behave as a cause-driven leader and role model for staff and members, promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job functions.
  • Ensure all staff certifications are current and complete, and all in-service standards are met.
  • Update pool schedule monthly and monitor upcoming events.
  • Conduct YMCA and American Red Cross certification courses.
  • Help maintain inventory and recommend purchases.
  • Engage with parents by providing information about observing lessons, distributing handouts and flyers, answering questions, and ensuring program evaluations are completed.
  • Participate in emergency drills and procedures to the highest level permitted by training and situation.
  • Manage program duties such as entering classes into Daxko, assigning students to levels, eliminating waitlists, monitoring registration, and posting schedules.
  • Develop strategies with branch leadership to grow and build programs, analyze fill percentages, and identify community needs for new programs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
