Job description

The Seasonal Reader will need to commit to reading and committee time for approximately 17-24 hours per week in early December and throughout January and February. Some committee work may be scheduled in early March. Reading will happen during regular work hours (8:30 am-4:30 pm Eastern Time Zone) on weekdays. Reading and committee work will be conducted remotely.

Due to payroll tax requirements, the successful candidate must be located in one of the following states: New York or Massachusetts.

Primary Duties
  • Work in partnership with admission counselors in reviewing applications of candidates for admission.
  • Participate in team-based reading process which involves analyzing academic credentials, reviewing recommendations, personal essays, and other application documents, providing a summary evaluation and decision recommendation for each applicant.
  • Participate in Admission Committee reviews.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Strong reading, writing and assessment skills.
  • Solid technical/computer skills, including regular use of email and ability to use online tools effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment in collaboration with a diverse group of colleagues.
  • Access to reliable, high-speed internet service.
  • Previous application evaluation experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Pay rate: $25.00/hour.
